‘Chega de Saudade’ is often considered
the first Bossa Nova song to have been
recorded in 1957 by Brazilian singer Elizete
Cardoso. It was Joao Gilberto’s release of
the same song in 1958 which became a hit
making Bossa Nova a concrete genre in
Latin music.
